Practice Comp Camp August 2015
A practice Comp Camp will be held on the grounds of 1st Wentworthville Scout Hall on the Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday until early afternoon.
This is a Patrol Camp with each Patrol setting up its own campsite and cooking their own meals.
Costs are food-related only: the Scouts will be catering for themselves as a patrol.
An adult Scout Leader should be able to be in attendance from APPROXIMATELY 5 pm on the Friday afternoon to allow scouts to start setting up.
The grounds are also able to be externally lit but Scouts should bring torches for use after sunset.
Scouts should prepare for, and pack for a 2-night camp, allowing for the possibility of rain and/or cold weather.
SCOUTS ARE NOT TO BE LEFT AT THE GROUNDS WITHOUT A SUPERVISING PARENT / GUARDIAN:
(I) DROPPING THEM OFF
(II) PROVIDING A PERMISSION NOTE
(III) PHYSICALLY CONFIRMING WITH A SUPERVISING ADULT SCOUT LEADER THAT THE PARTICIPANTS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED AS SCOUTS BEING THERE FOR THE PURPOSES OF PARTICIPATING IN THE PRACTICE COMP CAMP
(IV) ENSURING THAT THERE ARE AT LEAST TWO ADULTS PRESENT RENDERING APPROPRIATE SUPERVISION
Drop off and pickup point is Blaxland Riverside Park, on Jamieson St.
It is just behind Silverwater Prison.
Car parking may be difficult in the afternoon. The first car park on the left is the closest to the meeting place, and may be less crowded.
In Patrols, the Scouts will be wandering around Sydney Olympic Park.
While Leaders will be monitoring, there is no direct adult supervision of each Patrol.
Each Patrol must have a compass and a pen.
Bring food, brimmed hat, rain jacket, sunscreen, shoes suitable for a hike.
Wear Full Uniform.
