This is a combined night with 2nd Northmead scouts and the region caving team. This will be a great opportunity to make friends with other scouts at their hall and have an exciting night of climbing. If you’ve never done activities to do with climbing before this is a great opportunity to get involved and have a great time. Feel free to bring a torch for some outside games.

To attend attend you have to TICK THE PARENT CONSENT BOXES ON ROCK RELATED ACTIVITIES AND ABSEILING otherwise you will not be able to join in some of the activities.

THIS IS A YOUTH PARADE ORGANISED BY THE SEVEN HILLS RSL …WE MARCH IN FORMATION WITH OTHER YOUTH GROUPS ALONG BOOMERANG PLACE , FIRST AVE AND BEST ROAD….THE POLICE ARE ON HAND AND STOP TRAFFIC DURING THE MARCH…MUMS AND DADS ARE WELCOME TO PHOTOGRAPH THEIR CUBS MARCHING AND JOIN THE MEMERIAL SERVICE AT THE CLUB.

CUBS MUST BE IN FULL UNIFORM.

BEST TO BRING A HAT ( SCOUT HAT IF POSSIBLE AS ITS UNIFORM )… THE RSL CLUB THEN HOLD AN ANZAC DAY SERVICE AND MEMORIAL. AFTER THE MEMORIAL THEY PUT ON REFRESHMENTS FOR THE YOUTH ATTENDING …

THE CUBS ARE ALSO INVITED TO ATTEND WITH THEIR FAMILY (FAMILY ACTIVITY NOT A SET CUB ACTIVITY ) THE CASTLE HILL RSL DAWN SERVICE AT WRIGHTS ROAD RESERVE KELLYVILLE – CORNER OF WRIGHTS ROAD AND HARRINGTON AVE (AND GREEN ROAD) KELLYVILLE. THE START TIME IS 6AM BUT AS ITS VERY BUSY YOU WILL NEED TO BE THERE EARLY. ALSO WE WILL HAVE TO ADVISE THE ASSEMBLY POINT.

FOR THE CUBS THAT ATTEND TWO ANZAC SERVICES (OTHER THAN SCHOOL ONES) THEY WILL ACHIEVE THE “THEIR SERVICE – OUR HERITAGE” BADGE. SO LET THE LEADERS KNOW …. THE PARADE AND ANY OTHER SERVICE WITH FAMILY OR CUBS, DAWN, SUNSET GET THE BADGE ……

**** WELCOME TO THE 2015 GWSR JOEY FUN DAY **** HEROES & VILLAINS *****

COSTS: $10 Joeys – $5 Leaders & Helpers. (includes badge, venue, craft materials and equipment Hire)

Who is invited? ALL youth members registered in the Joey Section. (must have mem#) No Siblings

Parents/Helpers? Every person will be allocated a job to do and it won’t necessarily be with their child. There will be 100+ joeys onsite, there won’t be room for spectators. Every person onsite over 18 must be a leader or have completed the M5 – Prohibited Employment Declaration form. see http://www.nsw.scouts.com.au/leaders/scouts-nsw-forms – No exceptions.

What to Wear? MUST have Fully closed in shoes and Group Scarf. They can wear “play” clothes. We would love to see them in the costume of their favourite Heroe or Villain. All capes must be removable for the climbing wall and Flying Fox.

What to Bring? Drink Bottle full of water(can be topped up onsite), sun screen, Morning Tea, small carry bag. Please label names on everything.

LUNCH? Lunch is being provided by Outback Steakhouse. They are providing sausage sandwiches for the kids and steak sandwiches for the Adults. This is at no cost to Scouting, if you have special dietary requirements we respectfully ask that you bring something along for lunch. Also ensure that any special dietary requirements are noted on this form in case there is a food component at a base.

What NOT to Bring? Anything expensive, no Electronic devices, No Nuts or Glass.

Parking? There will not be any onsite parking due to the number of children walking around. Please arrive early and find parking on the streets outside Bundilla. Please ensure that you walk your child to their leader for registration, no drop and run at the gate please.

If you do not tick “Flying Fox” in the consent area, your Joey will not be doing the Flying Fox.
If you do not tick “Rock Related Activities” your Joey can’t go on the climbing wall.

The GWS Joey Fun Day is a great highlight to the Joey Scout Calendar, we hope your Joey enjoys the day. HOP HOP HOP.
