This activity is a walking tour of Parramatta
You will need a packed lunch, water bottle, snacks and raincoat in a small backpack
Uniform please if invested and a suitable sun hat.
Cost is $6 plus transport fees (if applicable).

Aussie Bush Mob Holiday – all Joeys must have a parent or responsible adult in attendance for the camp
Cost is $55 for Joeys, Parents, and Leaders This includes all meals.
Please make all cheques payable to 1st Winston Hills Scout Group
Parents will be required to assist with meal preparation, cleaning up, and at activities.
All participants need to fill in an activity form. Parents will also need to fill in a PED form (prohibited employment declaration)
Please see attached packing list. Label everything! Joeys and Leaders need to wear uniform to and from camp.
Arrive 10am for set up and morning tea. Opening Parade 11am. If you plan to arrive later please advise your Joey Leader. If you need to
leave before the end of the camp you must advise your Joey Leader.
Everyone must wear closed in shoes while on camp, including during swimming activities. No crocs, sandals or thongs. No singlet tops.
Joeys and Parents will be sleeping in Bunk Bed accommodation. Separate boy / girl rooms. Camping is also an option.
Parents are responsible for showering and toileting their own Joey.
All medication must be handed to your Leader on arrival in a sealed bag with the Joey’s name on it. Medication will be stored in a safe location, and distributed to a parent to administer to the Joey when required.
Camp activities will include craft, games, campfire, bush walk, swimming, and lots of FUN and FOOD! Saturday night dinner will have an Aussie Bush theme. Parents, Leaders and Joeys are invited to dress up.

Directions
Take the F3 out of Sydney.
Take the first Gosford exit
Turn Right onto Woy Woy Rd, at the Shell service station.
3.2 kms to Camp Kariong sign on the Right hand side
Take the road on the right and drive up dirt road until you reach car park.
As the access road crosses a creek Parents are asked to park in the car park and use available trolleys to bring belongings to the camp buildings, a short distance along a track.
The 1st Ermington & 1st Winston Hills Joeys are going on a Buddy adventure, travelling downstream to explore Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour’s largest island which in it’s varied past was a convict prison, reform & industrial schools, Shipbuilding & naval dockyard.
Parents and families are welcome to come along. Please fill in an A1 form for each person attending.
Meeting at Rydalmere Ferry wharf, John Street Rydalmere at 8.30am. We will be catching the 9am ferry to Darling Harbour then changing ferries to head out to Cockatoo Island (arriving 10.13am) to explore the convict barracks and shipbuilding and naval dockyards, stopping along the way for morning tea, activities and lunch.
We will be departing the island at 1.13pm travelling upriver arriving at Rydalmere Wharf at 2pm.
The cost involved for the day is the fare for the ferry which is $2.50 per person, payable to the Ferry Master onboard.
Please bring in a small day pack:
- Water bottle
- a packed lunch and snack for morning tea (no nut products).
- warm Jacket (it might get chilly on the water)
- Some money to buy an ice block/ ice-cream (optional)
Uniform and closed-in shoes.
Please remember to wear a hat and sunscreen.
E1_Random Act of Kindness Outing
Joey are to wear full uniform.
Joeys will be accompanied by Joey Leaders to approach shoppers in the common area of the centre (not in shops) to offer a small gift (wrapped Rocky Road) as a ‘Random Act of Kindness’. This is an activity towards our ‘Caring & Sharing Badge’
