Parramatta District Anzac March
Apr 25 @ 03:45 – 05:30

E1_Parramatta Disctrict Anzac Dawn Service

All participants will be meeting at the Parramatta RSL, located on Macquarie Street at 3:50am.

At 4.00am all those participating in the March will be asked to assemble outside the Club. At this stage all roads in the vicinity will be closed to traffic by NSW Police and Parramatta work crews. The March will start at 4.15am and should arrive at Prince Alfred Park by 4.30am when the Dawn Service will commence. Those not wanting to march can meet at Prince Alfred Park, but will be under their own parents supervision.

The Dawn Service normally takes about 45-50 minutes, depending on the guest speaker and the number of people laying wreaths.

At the conclusion of the Dawn Service, the marching contingents march back to the Parramatta RSL Club, where a breakfast will be served in the Club auditorium.

The breakfast is open to everyone who attends the Dawn Service. The Club will serve breakfast until everyone is fed, so there is no need to rush.

Parking near the Club will be at a premium. The Club has a multi story car park directly opposite the Club in Macquarie Street, some limited parking adjacent the Club, and street parking.

Leaders will be in charge of your children from the time they arrive at the RSL, to the point when the parade arrives back at the RSL. Once the parade is concluded at the RSL, parents will be responsible for their children, unless otherwise indicated on a separate E1, as some groups are conducting events around ANZAC day.

Full uniform must be worn, with scarf neatly rolled and closed in shoes. Bring a jacket / raincoat if raining.

All Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers are welcome to attend the march.

Please bring this completed E1 with you on the day, or provide to your section leaders prior to the day.

Attendance at the Dawn Service is highly encouraged, and it goes towards your “Their Service – Our Heritage” badge.
