Camp – Sirius Cup at Balmoral Beach
Mar 12 @ 07:30 – Mar 13 @ 15:00

Scout E1 Sirius cup E1 16

Sirius cup is a long running Scout Regatta & camp when Balmoral oval becomes a mini jamboree site with troops from all over the state participating from Grafton to Lake Burley Griffin.
The Cub section is going this year & some scouts have asked if they could go.
1/The $12.00 only covers cost of camping overnight at Balmoral oval, approximately $7.00 will be needed to cover transport costs using an OPAL card. ( I would highly recommend purchasing one for your scout it makes traveling much easier. the 7 eleven on the corner of Station st & Prospect Hwy, Seven Hills sell them)
2/ Food will not be provided so the scouts have the option of self catering & cooking on their own gas stoves ( heximine stoves not allowed ) or buying their meals from the onsite bbq catering, 4 meals x $6.00 approximate.( Please check sirius cup website for more information on food & prices) It is up to individual scouts to provide their own food, I would suggest packing some extra snacks
3/ Own tents will have to be brought along, Hike packs are recommended although distances to be walked are not too far.
4/ Pack light as for a hike, plate, knife, fork, spoon & cup in a mess kit ?,sleeping bag & sleepwear/lightweight mattress or newspaper/tent or part of/drink bottle/small 1st aid kit/jumper/long pants/shorts/collared t shirt/socks/underwear x 2/toothbrush & toothpaste/swimmers & towel/sunscreen/wide brimmed hat preferable/raincoat/healthy snacks/big Ziplock bag or 2 for wet clothes/camera?/gas stove? & whatever else you may think of just remembering it is only 1 night.
5/ This will be a patrol type easy going camp, it is up to the general agreement of the scouts to decide which activities they participate in.
The Activities include participating in canoe age races, Iron man competition, swimming at Mosman Baths or the baths at Chiltern Gardens, walking through bushland & around military installations overlooking the heads & Sydney harbour or just sitting around camp socializing take your pick.
6/ I will require a parent to also come along if no other leaders are able to make it ( its not often you get to stay at Balmoral beach for $12 & the coffee shops aren’t to bad ) If there is not enough scouts attending the activity may be cancelled & any predicted bad weather may also halt the activity.
7/Full uniform to be worn to & from the activity.
8/Be sure to tick the SWIMMING box if you want to swim. All swimming will be done at baths & only as a group
9/ DO NOT bring any electronic devices, valuables etc as No Responsibility will be taken if they are lost ,stolen or damaged.

E1_2016_Jungle Book Movie-1

In 2016, Cub Scouts all around the world celebrate 100 years of Scouting. The theme for Cub Scouts is based around The Jungle Book. The Hills District Cub Scouts have been able to secure a very special ADVANCED screening of the new release Disney movie of ‘The Jungle Book’.

What better way to celebrate the Cub Centenary, than to join with all the Cubs from within the District to view this fantastic movie in a theatre all to our selves!

At this stage, the movie is still to be rated, however it is expected to be rated PG. It is also not known how long the movie will run for, it is expected to be between 90mins to 120mins. You will be advised of these details once this is known. The cost of the tickets is one set fee for both adults and children at $15.

This activity is open to all Cubs, their family members (siblings, parents, grandparents) and friends. The more the merrier.

To secure your tickets to this special ADVANCED screening at this fabulous price, please complete this E1, the attached booking form and hand them together with your payment to your Cub Scout Leader BEFORE Monday 21st March 2016.

You are most welcome to leave your Cub in the care of your Cub Scout Leader, however parental supervision is required for family and guests. If any siblings or friends would like to join us for the movie then an adult MUST stay to supervise the sibling. Leaders will not be responsible for non-Cubs.

Cubs and Leaders are to wear their Scout uniform to the movie.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

E1_for_Cub_Scout_Birthday_Bash_May_1_2016 (1)

This is a special event just for Cubs, Cub Scout Leaders and Youth Helpers working with the Packs. It is not open to parents and siblings.
Of course a special exemption can be sought for a Carer if absolutely essential.

Cost for Cub Scouts is $10 and for Leaders/Youth Helpers $5

Full uniform to be worn including a hat for sun protection. Warm jacket/raincoat whichever the weather dictates. Bring your own picnic lunch (sandwiches/fruit/snacks) and water bottle.

Please make sure everything has a name on it and that it all fits into a backpack – makes moving around the site easier (less to lose).

There will be no Water Activities or Flying Fox. We are hoping to have a Climbing Wall available.

There will be badges for sale and swap – so cubs may need some pocket money – or at least any badges they might like to swap with other cubs.

All forms and money to be at Region Office by April 15, 2016 after registering everyone on-line.

There will lots of fun activity bases for the cubs; how you get around the site is entirely up to the CSLs. There are no set rotations – just go to wherever the line is the shortest and work your way around the activities at your leisure.

Activities are open from 10:00am – there will be no Opening Parade – as soon as you have your Cubs together – start having fun!

Lunch time is from 12:00pm to 12:30pm and all activities will be shut down for this time, to give everyone a chance to eat.
Speech and cake cutting will be at 12:45pm on the parade ground. Please make sure you have all your Cubs assembled and ready by 12:45pm. Bases will open again immediately after the short ceremony.

Please do not bring Group Flags, they will not be required for parade.

Make sure you arrange a meeting point for before and after the event – so parents know where to drop off to and pick up from.

Thank you.E1_for_Cub_Scout_Birthday_Bash_May_1_2016 (1)
