Cub Day @ the 38th GWS Region Jamborette
Jun 7 @ 09:30 – 15:30

GWS jamborette 2014
Greater Western Sydney Region Jamborette (a large camp of about 600 Scouts). Cubs are invited to attend every second year so the Cubs and parents can see the Scout section in action. This is a fun day for all Cubs and is well worth the drive. Allow 1 hour drive.

FEES: $5 per Cub Scout – includes all activities and a souvenir badge. Leaders, parents and other visitors are FREE entry. Parents and siblings are welcome to stay for the day and will be able to see the Cubs undertaking various challenges. Cub Day badges will be available for sale on the day.

ACTIVITY BASES: Activity bases open at 9:30am and close at 12 noon for lunch. Activity bases re-open at 1:30pm and close at 4:00pm.
All visitors must be off site before the gates are locked at 4:30pm. Packs may visit their Group’s Scout Troop only during the lunch break – no returning to the campsite after bases close. Badges can be bought and swapped at the International Display base.

GETTING TO JAMBORETTE: If you are able to car pool with another family this may be wise as there is a $7 fee for parking per car.
All cars must arrive at the Bents Basin Road entrance on the northern side of the basin only. The Bents Basin Road is easy to miss as it is not a main road. Travel slowly after going over the Nepean River just out of Wallacia.

Bents Basin State Recreation Area requires all vehicles to display a valid pass when parked within the site – these are available to purchase from the on-site vending machines.
Park rangers will book any vehicles without a valid pass displayed on their windscreen, so please be warned.

WHAT TO WEAR / BRING: Cubs to wear full uniform, enclosed shoes (otherwise they will be unable to participate in activities) and wear a hat. Need to carry a day pack with lunch, healthy snacks, water bottle, warm jacket and a raincoat. A pair of water shoes or old sneakers and a towel is a must if going canoing. Please make sure everything is named so any lost items can be returned to their owners! Cubs should leave all mobile phones and other similar electronic devices and money at home for the day.

As this is a Region activity late forms CANNOT be accepted.
