Scouts

Scouts is for boys and girls aged from 11 to 14 years. There are lots of fun activities that entertain and teach the youth responsibility, leadership and camp craft skills.

The meetings are full of informative training blended in with a fun environment under the guidance of trained leaders. The scouts are expected to take leadership and be involved in the planning and execution of the meetings as well as the many camps.

Cub Scout Uniform

This consists of four items:

  • Group scarf (presented from the Group)

  • Scout shirt (blue with green inset)

  • Scout belt (blue webbing)

  • Stone coloured pants

  • Black or brown leather shoes

Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS)

Are nine badges covering:

Alpine

Aquatic

Boating

Bushcraft

Bushwalking

Camping

Cycling

Paddling

Vertical

#knowledge

Special interest Area (SIA)

Are six badges covering:

Adventure and Sport

Art and Literature

Creating a Better World

Environment

Growth and Development

STEM and Innovation

Leadership badges.

These are designed for those Scouts showing interest in becoming a leader of the Unit as a Patrol Leader or Assistant Patrol Leader.  Unit Leader is available for those showing high degree of leadership.

Australian Scout Award badge.

This is the highest award to be earned in the Scout Section.  This requires completion of:

  • All three core OAS to stage 5

    • Bushcraft

    • Bushwalking

    • Camping

  • Ten stage progressions of the OAS

  • Six SIA including a minimum in three different areas

  • Completion of the a personal development course

  • Completion of a personal reflection

  • Adventureous journey of at least three day, two nights

  • Achieved level three Milestone
