The Joey Scouts from Parramatta District will be participating in fun water activities during the first hour of the Cub and Scout District Swimming Carnival. The Joeys do not have races and we use the small paddle pool for fun water based activities. The Joeys will rotate through the activities. At the conclusion of our activity the pool will be closed. (Please see the note below)

Please meet your Joey Leader inside the Centre. We will have a short ceremony to mark the birthday of Baden Powell who started Scouts and celebrates his birthday on 22nd February, then start our activities.

Parents and family are invited to join us. Spectators are free. Joeys will pay $6 each to their Leader.

Joeys should wear their Joey scout shirt over their swimmers with their scarf neatly rolled. Please bring a towel and warm top to wear after the event.

Please fill in the form and make sure you tick the boxes pertaining to SWIMMING and WATER ACTIVITIES and hand to your Joey Leader – SIGNED.

Closure of Small Pools
During Joey and Cub Events District Leaders and assigned parent helpers will provide supervision at the small pools. Pool staff will be directed to close the small pools that are not in use immediately after the joey and cub activities finish. There will be no supervision for younger children when the Joeys / Cubs carnival finishes and parents are directed to make arrangements to either supervise the younger ones themselves or take them home and return to collect the Scouts at the end of the night. It is considered too dangerous for younger siblings to be running around the pool area unsupervised by their parents.

Parramatta District Anzac March
Apr 25 @ 03:45 – 05:30

E1_Parramatta Disctrict Anzac Dawn Service

All participants will be meeting at the Parramatta RSL, located on Macquarie Street at 3:50am.

At 4.00am all those participating in the March will be asked to assemble outside the Club. At this stage all roads in the vicinity will be closed to traffic by NSW Police and Parramatta work crews. The March will start at 4.15am and should arrive at Prince Alfred Park by 4.30am when the Dawn Service will commence. Those not wanting to march can meet at Prince Alfred Park, but will be under their own parents supervision.

The Dawn Service normally takes about 45-50 minutes, depending on the guest speaker and the number of people laying wreaths.

At the conclusion of the Dawn Service, the marching contingents march back to the Parramatta RSL Club, where a breakfast will be served in the Club auditorium.

The breakfast is open to everyone who attends the Dawn Service. The Club will serve breakfast until everyone is fed, so there is no need to rush.

Parking near the Club will be at a premium. The Club has a multi story car park directly opposite the Club in Macquarie Street, some limited parking adjacent the Club, and street parking.

Leaders will be in charge of your children from the time they arrive at the RSL, to the point when the parade arrives back at the RSL. Once the parade is concluded at the RSL, parents will be responsible for their children, unless otherwise indicated on a separate E1, as some groups are conducting events around ANZAC day.

Full uniform must be worn, with scarf neatly rolled and closed in shoes. Bring a jacket / raincoat if raining.

All Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers are welcome to attend the march.

Please bring this completed E1 with you on the day, or provide to your section leaders prior to the day.

Attendance at the Dawn Service is highly encouraged, and it goes towards your “Their Service – Our Heritage” badge.
